Mahima Chandravadhana Seethapathy
Where are you from?
I’m Mahima Sree C S, and I’m from Coimbatore, India!
What are you studying and why did you choose Luddy?
I’m currently majoring in informatics, with a business cognate, along with minors in Finance and Data Science.
Choosing Luddy was an easy decision for me—I was drawn to its warm, tight-knit community, the supportive professors, and the well-balanced curriculum in Informatics. The blend of tech and business through my minor at Kelley has given me the best of both worlds, setting me up for my future in tech consulting and cloud.
What activities do you participate in at IU?
Indiana University has truly become my second home. From the very first day, I felt welcomed into a community that uplifts, supports, and empowers. I’ve met people who started as classmates but have now become some of my closest friends. I’ve joined organizations that inspire me every day, taken on leadership roles that push me to grow, and walked through doors filled with incredible opportunities.
I’m currently the director of International Student Ambassadors, a program run by the office of international services, VP of Marketing at the Luddy Consulting Association, Intern at the Center of Excellence for women in Technology, Intern with the Teach IT team, at the Serve IT clinic, Undergraduate Instructor for I101, and I’m also a part of other social clubs to keep my passion for the community running.
Any additional thoughts for prospective IU Luddy students?
Through all of this, I’ve realized that what truly makes IU special isn’t just the academics or the career prep (though those are amazing!), but the people. The memories, the late-night study sessions, the shared laughs, and the feeling of always having a place where I belong. I couldn't have asked for a better college experience, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me next!

Where are you from?
I'm from Bangalore, India.
What are you studying and why did you choose Luddy?
I'm currently pursuing degrees in Informatics and Finance. My exposure to engineering started early, thanks to my parents, and I've always been drawn to finding more efficient ways of doing things. Informatics delves into how we interact with technology and how those interactions can be improved—a concept that really resonates with me. The problem-solving focus at Luddy felt like the perfect fit for my interests.
What activities do you participate in at IU?
Balancing two degrees keeps me busy, but I'm still active in a few organizations. I'm part of the Liberal Democrats Club, which engages in political discussions and debates, and I'm also involved in the Chess Club. Additionally, I serve as an Associate Instructor for I101, which has been a great teaching experience and has given me insight into how informatics skills can be applied in real-world contexts.
What are your future plans & how you'll apply your Luddy degree?
My goal is to use my education to stand out in the finance and consulting arenas. Informatics has taught me to break down problems into key components, sharpen my empathy for end users, and develop the soft skills necessary to collaborate effectively. While I view Informatics as a serious academic pursuit, it also feels like a "hobby" because I enjoy learning new approaches to innovation and efficiency.
Any additional thoughts for prospective IU Luddy students?
For students from India, I think it's important to know that Luddy offers a supportive, interdisciplinary environment. It allows you to explore multiple interests—like I do with both Finance and Informatics—and engage in clubs or extracurriculars that broaden your perspectives. IU has been an incredible place to grow academically, socially, and professionally.

Sanjana Khajuria
Where are you from?
I’m from Gurgaon, India.
What are you studying and why did you choose Luddy?
At Luddy, I’m majoring in Informatics with a cognate in business, and at Kelley, I’m majoring in Information Systems. I chose Luddy because I wanted to explore the socio-technical aspects of technology and gain insights into back-end coding, front-end prototyping, UI/UX Design, data analytics and visualization, and the ethical and social implications of tech. Luddy also provides exceptional career development opportunities, employer connections, and hands-on experiences like the Serve IT Clinic, which allow me to apply what I learn in real-world settings.
What activities do you participate in at IU?
At IU, I am involved in a variety of organizations. I am a Resident Assistant with Residential Life, President of the Kelley Technology Consulting Workshop, Web Design Lead with Serve IT Clinic, and in Phi Mu Women’s Fraternity. I am also a part of the Business Honors Program.
What are your future plans & how you'll apply your Luddy degree?
The interdisciplinary approach of Luddy helps me understand both the business and technical perspectives, which is essential for my career where I want to integrate the two industries. Last summer, I interned at Salesforce as a Product Management intern in their Customer Success-AI Integrations team. Here, I got the opportunity to apply my skills in data visualization, prototyping and ethics within my role. In the future, I want to explore careers in technology consulting, product management, analytics or UI/UX Design, where I can bridge the gap between business strategy and technology innovation. My informatics degree equips me with a well-rounded understanding of both these sections through my choice of cognate along with my major in Luddy.
Any additional thoughts for prospective IU Luddy students?
For students from India considering Luddy and IU, I’d say it offers a great balance between technical education, career development, and hands-on experience. With hundreds of clubs, both social and educational, students have endless opportunities to get involved, whether it's through internships, leadership roles, or community-focused initiatives like the Serve IT Clinic. IU has truly been a home away from home for me. The college-town environment fosters a close-knit community, while the flexible curriculum allows students to tailor their academic journey with majors, minors, cognates, and electives. The strong mentorship culture and student organizations create a supportive network, helping students transition smoothly and build meaningful connections. For those looking for a holistic education, leadership opportunities, and the flexibility to explore multiple interests, IU is the perfect place to grow both personally and professionally.
Why Sanjana chose Luddy
Description of the video:
My name is Sanjana Kajuria and I'm from Gurgaon, India. I'm majoring in informatics for the Cognit in Business from the Lutty School of Informatics and also information systems from the Kelly School of Business. I chose Lutty because I really wanted the social and technical aspect to my education. It allowed me to really focus on the technical aspects like front-end development, backend coding, UI-UX, and also the ethical aspects of technology. I'm in the server IT clinic as a web design intern and I've been with them for two years. They've really helped me understand the customer-facing aspect of business and technology. In the future, I really want to go into technology consulting, UIUX, web design or product management. Forces in Lutty have helped me understand how a business runs, basic data visualization, coding, and a lot of social aspects of technology. I have seen myself grow into who I am today. If it wasn't for Lutty, the professors, the faculty, the clubs I joined, the community I had here, the people I found along the way and who are now my family, I don't think I would have seen that change in myself.

Adit, the Undergraduate Instructor
Description of the video:
Hi, my name is Adid Patel and I'm a junior. I'm originally from Gujarat, India. I'm pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a dual specialization in data science and artificial intelligence along with a minor in data science. I choose a LERD particularly because it helps us as a student to work on the dual world challenges. The professors were really supportive and they provide us with the help, whatever they can able to do it, and they always want us to like succeed in whatever course we have taken with them. I work as an undergrad insurance instructor for informatics scores and I'm also a Decutational Sports Evaluator. After coming to IU, it's known as a basketball school, so I start following that and same with football. I went to watch a couple of matches at the Memorial Stadium. The experience was so good, same with assembly hall matches. Right now I'm loving both basketball and football. I don't have an exact path on how I'm going to apply my degree, but I'm driven into the data science field. Maybe I'm going to be a data engineer or data analyst. I can apply my learning degree in whatever field of data I am capable of.
