Hui Min (Huimin) Leung earned her PhD in Optical Sciences from University of Arizona, M.Eng. and B.Eng. from National University of Singapore, and did her postdoctoral research work in Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School and University of Colorado Boulder, JILA.The central theme of her research is to engineer advanced biophotonic technologies that meld classical and quantum strategies to tackle unmet needs in biomedicine. Her lab synergistically combines tailored ultrafast laser pulses, quantum entangled photons spanning the visible to the mid-infrared, and coherence gating methods such as optical coherence tomography to develop cutting-edge optical imaging and sensing platforms. A major mission of her group is to create biomedical technologies capable of extracting new knowledge about the rules of life and pathogenesis, translating them into predictive models that enhance precision medicine and accelerate drug discovery.
